Rates, Allocations and Caching

We cache rates for some clients. Cached rates can cause your client to receive a cached rate and upon receiving live rates, find the lower (cached) rate no longer available.

Caching clients need to take into account that it is possible, though not likely, that available rates initially shown will no longer be available at time of purchase. And, that Alliance's system is adaptive and attempts to minimize the occurrence but there is no way to prevent it. Since Alliance has the ability to not cache rates for defined clients, the potential problem can be avoided.

Displayed Rates, Nightly Rates

Hotels have inconsistent ways of offering rates through the GDS's and Pegasus. Some offer rates base on the first night rate, highest rate, during a guest lowest rate. Further more, the hotel chains do not identify which rate rule they choose and they have the ability to changes the rule at any time without advising us.

Therefore, on a multiple night stay, when the rates vary between nights, the initial rate displayed may not be accurate. Example, if the hotel chain elects to display the highest rate. The initial night stay is displayed at $275 when the nightly rates are $275 night one, $199 nights 2 and 3. On the other hand if they displayed the lowest rate, it may be deceiving to the consumer.
